Hello! My name is Willow, the IPG Certified Master Groomer.
I have been working with dogs professionally since 2011 and began my career as a dog groomer in 2015 after I graduated from grooming academy. In my years as a groomer, I have cultivated a wonderful client base that I am honored to work with. I enjoy opportunities for continuing education and regularly attend the Northwest Grooming Show to participate in their seminars. I also subscribe to online educational resources and have completed multiple certification courses, including Pet First Aid and CPR, a Fear Free Certification, the AKC S.A.F.E. Certificate Course, and many specialized grooming (haircutting) certificate courses. I have completed the International Professional Groomer’s Certified Professional Groomer (CPG) Certificate Course as well as the Advanced Professional Groomer (APG) Certificate Course in my journey to become a Master Groomer, which I now hold as of autumn of 2024. Community outreach is important to me, and I was on the board of directors for the Howl-o-ween Parade in 2019 and have volunteered with both Whatcom Humane Society and Washington State Animal Response Team.
I enjoy grooming all kinds of dogs and doing all kinds of haircuts, though I do have a soft spot for Asian Fusion grooming. My grooming philosophy is centered around the phrase, “humanity before vanity”. I pride myself on giving haircuts that provide comfort to the dog, that focus on improving their coat and skin health, and that are easily maintained at home. I provide everyday pet trims to keep our classic PNW adventure dogs easy to clean after a trek on the trail, but I also offer more advanced Asian Fusion hairstyles and creative grooming, including stencil and chalk work, as well as dye work.
In addition to caring for dogs, my other vocation is photography. I have a Bachelor of Art in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography from Western Washington University. My art practice focuses on pet portraiture and environmental sustainability. I have been featured in solo exhibitions during the Bellingham and Fairhaven art walks, in group shows at fine art galleries in Seattle and Port Angeles, and in print at Bellingham Alive.
In my free time, I enjoy farming. I live on five acres and tend goats, a small orchard, and a vibrant medicinal plant garden. I find great joy in caring for the land and the people and animals who call it home by harvesting delicious food and herbal medicine to cook and prepare for those I love.
